bespoke in detail
When ordering your bespoke suit there are a number of processes that must be completed to ensure the perfect fit:
Initial consultation: You will be asked all kinds of questions, like "Is the suit for work, or a special occasion?" Your colour references and specific styling requirements (like pocket details, lapel size, buttonhole size and more) will be noted, and you can try on suits to help you decide what you want.
You will be carefully measured by a Sarti tailor and your very own bespoke pattern
will be drafted.
Construction: Sarti orders your individual cut length of suiting which arrives from Europe within seven days.
The pattern of your handmade, bespoke suit is made, the cloth is then cut to measure and the pieces are sewn together. Areas including the collar and chest are reinforced with horsehair and collar canvas and thousands of tiny handmade stitches, to retain their shape. Your handmade suit is then ready for your first fitting.
First fitting: Your bespoke suit is fitted, deconstructed and recut, and sewn. On the second occasion sleeves are added, and your new suit is then finished off.
Final touches: Your bespoke handmade suit is tried on and any final touches are made. Details like co-ordinating shirts and ties are also attended to. The new suit gets pressed and placed into a garment bag, ready for pickup or delivery.
A Sarti bespoke suit takes our Master Tailor approximately 55 hours to complete.
